Good reception desk

You already know that the reception is probably the most important space in your office – it has to look presentable, and neat, and your client has to feel welcome in it. Most of the reception’s looks depends on the reception desk. 

Its design has to match the character of your enterprise and the overall décor of your office – a hard wood rustic desk will look good in a law firm, but might seem out of place in an IT company - something more modern will be much better choice. A reception desk should also be comfortable, not only for the receptionist who sits by it the whole day, but also for the customers. It’s good to set up a chair or two nearby, or, if your reception desk is higher (for example – if your receptionist stands up to welcome your customers or if your office is designed as an open space and you want to make the reception desk a divider of the reception and the proper office), a convenient counter your client can lean on. 

Furthermore, the reception desk has to be always neat and clean, as it represents the whole company. Thus, it is good to have a desk that has a lot of nooks and crannies, drawers and other usable spaces for storage of documents and office supplies that your customer can’t see. Many stores with office furniture have such desks in their offer, but you can also order a special, custom made reception desk to make sure it will suit all your (and your receptionist’s) needs.
